Highlights from Vegas:
-Tim McGraw and Faith Hill got on the escalator behind me at Caesar’s Palace. I asked my buddy with me, “hey do you know who that is behind me?” My buddy looks at Tim and Faith, pauses, looks past them to try to recognize someone else and says “nope”. Faith Hill is pretty without makeup. Tim McGraw is shorter than I thought. They were shopping and weren’t dolled up so I didn’t say anything to them.
-I saw the madness of the World Series of Poker. The room was full of players and it was so loud because they all click their chips together that it sounds like it is raining.
-Won a sports bet on the UFC TUF main event. Kendall Grove was an underdog. Ship it 20 bucks! I will never bet on non-mma sporting events again.
-Free Buffet at the Orleans.
Lowlights:
-A football sized frozen mixed drink of hurricane. Let’s just say I was the only one who finished it, and I probably had the worst evening for it.
-107degrees F the whole trip.
-We got a crummy room at the Imperial Palace (it was room 007 though). It had a view of a parking ramp and a Pepsi machine.
-Jeff Suppan lost me 43 dollars at the sports book. I want my money Jeff! (he tanked it at the Brewers game we went to as well!)
Iowa highlights:
-My nephew talks A LOT. He also thinks that the Olympic rings are the Audi car symbol so whenever there is swimming trials on TV he keeps saying “Audi is winning!” or “Audi is losing!” depending on which way they are swimming. He also like Dora the Explora and I had him speaking Spanish (Espera Tico!).
-Saw a Brewer game with my brother and Dad where the Brewers hit 9 doubles and 3 HR’s. Nice seats nice weather. Lots of old folks going potty though so we had our view obstructed a lot (by them standing up, not them going potty in front of us).
-Driving back from Milwaukee on Sunday night, apparently Chicago decided to turn I-94 into a two lane highway. Ridiculous. How is construction always going on? Tell me organized crime is not involved. Liar!
-My brother and I decided to time ourselves in the pool swimming 50 meters. My time was 45 seconds. The olympic guys did it in 22 seconds (without a turn though). I think some of the olympic women backstroked 100m in 45 seconds. PWNED.
-You can’t find fast food between Grand Rapids and Midland after 10pm. Try it. I had McD’s in Midland at 12:30 because it is 24hrs.
-I also predicted the UFC 86 fight. Forrest Griffin was underrated and I should have made money on it.
-I tried doing some BJJ (or Shiatsu as some call it) in Iowa and got worked by the good folks at the U of I BJJ club. They had 3 girls rolling too! Go BJJ ladies.

Glad to hear that shiatsu’s alive and well in Iowa, too.
